"...a peculiar, sensual, oddly enchanting little musical ... lingers under the eyelids like a dream...The jaunty, plangent, country-infused music is by Herrick and Craver." Linda Winer, Newsday

Two-time Tony Award-winner John Cullum (Urinetown, On the Twentieth Century, Shenandoah, "Northern Exposure") made his Playwrights Horizons debut in this erotic chamber musical about a boy who hits puberty while living in a Depression-era bordello.  Playfully and poetically exploring a tangled landscape of Oedipal longing, Wilder bewitches through its haunting blend of distinctly American music and sensuality.

Joining Mr. Cullum in the cast were Lacey Kohl (Carousel, Smokey Joe's Cafe, The Who's Tommy) and Jeremiah Miller (True Love).

Erin Cressida Wilson's Off-Broadway productions include The Trail of Her Inner Thigh, Hurricane, and The Erotica Project (co-author).  She won an Independent  Spirit Award for her screenplay of the film "Secretary."

Jack Herrick composed music and lyrics for Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, and wrote and produced music and lyrics for Mr. Shepard's feature films Far North and Silent Tongue.  With Bill Irwin, David Shiner, and the Red Clay Ramblers, Mr. Herrick created and performed the Tony Award-winning Fool MoonMike Craver's New York credits include Diamond Studs, Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, Oil City Symphony (as co-author and original cast member), and Radio Gals (co-author).  He was a member of the Red Clay Ramblers for many years.

Lisa Portes' recent credits include the Chicago premiere of In The Blood by Suzan-Lori Parks at Next Theatre, the world premieres of Offspring of the Cold War by Carlos Murillo at Chicago's Walkabout Theatre, and Polaroid Stories by Naomi Iizuka at Depaul University.
